Not really, it just looks like... well, work.

It will get harder as we go along I just need to know where my blue dormers stand when it comes to their knowledge of the game

This one isn't hard, but it is complex for those who aren't used to swarm/wind-up

they are a fun deck indeed, but hard to understand first time around.... (depending on who you are)

make them actually make a Wind-Up Deck, win a certain number of times with it... then post the wins (and deck) to prove it.

That's the thing though, just making decks does not help to improve somethings that they may lack on. Such as, spell speeds, when to play or not play cards etc. I aim to improve my students knowledge of the game.
